Main Street at The Shops at Fallen Timbers was packed on November 7 for the second annual Hero Hustle 5K.
The mission of the Hero Hustle, which is organized by Life Connection of Ohio and Community Tissue Services, is to strengthen support, education and recognition of organ, eye and tissue donation in northwest Ohio. More than 680 registered participants and over 75 volunteers attended this special event, which featured a Kids’ Fun Run, 1-mile Family Fun Run and 5K Run/Walk. Before the runners and walkers took off, a balloon release was held to honor those who gave the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation.
A big thank you to our media sponsors, 13abc and K-100, for their generous promotion and coverage of the Hero Hustle. Thanks also to our other sponsors – Dave’s Running Shop, Toledo Road Runners, University of Toledo Health, Herbally Radiant Organic Skin Care, Promedica, Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio, Corigraphics, All Star Trophy & Engraving and The Track Shack.
The Hero Hustle will be held the first Saturday in November every year. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 5, 2016!
